Nephrology

Nephrology is a subspecialty of Internal Medicine concerned with diagnosing and managing diseases of the kidneys and urinary system. Common conditions that are identified and treated include hypertension; imbalances in fluids/electrolytes/acid-base/minerals. Our Nephrologists offer healthcare services related to hypertension, chronic kidney disease, polycystic kidney disease, kidney stones, high blood pressure, dialysis care, kidney transplantation, and renal diseases. Two of our doctors lead the transplant team of the new Regional Center of Excellence in Transplantation and Kidney Care at ECMC: Jon Von Visger, MD, PhD is the medical director, and Brian Murray, MD is the program director.
