Geriatrics & Palliative Medicine
Geriatric medicine is a specialty that focuses on health issues specific to seniors and aims to promote health by preventing and treating diseases and disabilities in older adults. Palliative care is a multidisciplinary approach to specialized medical care for people with life-limiting illnesses and focuses on providing relief from the symptoms, pain, physical and mental stress of terminal illness.
Faculty members within the division provide clinical care, engage in research, and contribute to the education of medical students, post-graduate trainees in medicine, family medicine, emergency medicine and surgery, and of practicing physicians in internal medicine, family medicine, emergency medicine and surgery.
